    Daniel Polley is a patent attorney with an electrical engineering background, as well as experience in the entertainment industry.  Mr. Polley has experience in prosecuting a wide range of technologies, including software and electrical inventions.  In addition to his intellectual property practice, Mr. Polley practices entertainment law, primarily focusing on the music, book publishing, film, and television industries.

    Mr. Polley was born in Miami, Florida on May 9, 1964. He received a B.S. Degree in electrical engineering from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton in 1986. While at FAU, he was a member of Tau Beta Pi. He received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University in 1989. During his legal education at Stetson, he served as an intern in the Consumer Affairs Division of the Attorney General's Office in Tampa, Florida.  

 

    Mr. Polley was admitted to practice before the Florida Bar, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Southern District of Florida in 1990.  Mr. Polley is also admitted to practice before the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. 

 

    Mr. Polley is a member of the Business Law Section, and the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar, Broward County Bar Association (Intellectual Property Section), American Bar Association (Patent, Trademark & Copyright Section, Litigation Section, and Entertainment and Sports Law Section), American Intellectual Property Law Association, Federal Bar Association, and the Patent Law Association of South Florida.  Mr. Polley serves on the Copyright Law Committee for the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Broadcasting, Sound Recordings, and Performing Artists Committee for the American Bar Association, as well as various other committees in these organizations and the Board of Directors for the Florida Atlantic University Alumni Association.  Dan Polley is also a member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts in Broward County and is involved with the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
